A Level Results 2018
Despite the unrelenting rain, students and teachers alike arrived at Frensham Heights this morning to share their results. With a nearly 100% pass rate and almost double the A*s on last year, everyone was understandably in good spirits. Headmaster Andrew Fisher expressed his incredible pride in the hard work of his staff and the dedication of his students. He mentioned, among others, Yeliz who received three A* and two A grades and will soon be on her way to study Architecture at Cambridge.
Overall, Frensham results improved on those of 2017 with an impressive one-third of grades being A*-A and two-thirds A*-B. Particularly strong this year were languages (100% A* in Italian, Turkish, Russian and German), Fine Art (50% A*, 100% A*-B) and English Literature (75% A*-B).
There were strong results again in the Extended Project with all students receiving A*-B. The Extended Project sits well within the Frensham ethos for independent learning. In Andrew’s words, “I want even our youngest students to be enthusiastic about researching around what most interests them, capable of sharing this through confident and engaging presentation and empowered to use these essential life skills to stand out in what is certain to be the challenging and rapidly changing future that will impact on all of our lives.”
We are truly proud of our students for their exceptional hard work and dedication. It has been another outstanding year with brilliant exam results. Year on year, we are so impressed by the diverse strengths and interests of Frensham students; their self-belief and courage to apply themselves to their individual interests. We wish them all the best as they go off to make nothing less than a significant contribution to art, science, politics, business and wherever else the world takes them.
